Self-Choreographed Solo
Premiered in August 2020 as a part of A Shedding (SLC)
A work-in-process solo, 'Not One Thing' is an improvisation on perfectionism, stuck-ness, over-planning, and over-doing. A reflection on and wrestling with the forever ongoing eradication of white supremacy in myself.
A Shedding was an event produced by Dominica Greene and myself at the end of summer 2020. We presented 8 new works from Black artists, artists of color, and allies within the Salt Lake City community. After each sharing followed a highly interactive discussion through which the viewers and the performers all contributed observations, questions, personal connections, and broader intersections of anti-racism, artistry, community, queerness, identity, and more.
