Courtney Mazeika is a dancer, choreographer, and educator from the US.  

 

She recently worked as a dancer with Norrdans (SE) for the 2022-2023 season, where she performed in works by Or/Eller, Rena Butler, and Ioannis Mandafounis.

She performed and collaborated with UNA Productions from 2018 - 2022.

As a freelance artist, Courtney has had the opportunity to perform in works by Tom Weinberger, Bobbi Jene Smith, Ben Green (HIND LEGS), David Harvey, Christian Burns, Alex Ketley,

Marissa Brown, Megan O'Brien, and in collaborative works with Peter Farrow & Jonathan Starr, as well as Marlie Couto & Max Judelson.

 

Her independent choreography has been shared at the Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (2nd prize), Austin Dance Festival, 801 Salon in Salt Lake City,

Chop Shop Contemporary Dance Festival, University of Texas at Austin, Utah Valley University, SALT Contemporary Dance I and II, Oquirrh West Project and more.

She is currently a professor at Utah Valley University. 

From 2015-2018, Courtney had the honor of creating work and serving as faculty at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.  She has also served on the faculty for the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program and directed the SALT Contemporary Dance Pre-Professional Training Company for two seasons.  

Courtney worked from 2015-2018 as a performer and rehearsal assistant for Tom Weinberger’s original creations at Staatstheater Kassel (DE), Ate9 Dance Company (Los Angeles, CA), Nuova Officina della Danza (IT), SUNY Purchase (New York), Arts Umbrella (VBC), Velocity Dance Center

(Seattle, WA).  She has taught classes, workshops, and movement labs through institutions such as The Playground NYC, Repertory Dance Theatre (SLC, UT), Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, SALT Contemporary Dance, UNA Productions, Chop Shop: Bodies of Work, and more.  She has also served as rehearsal director at North-West Arkansas Ballet Theatre, Oquirrh West Project, and SALT Contemporary Dance.

She received her BFA in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation, she moved to train with Summer Lee Rhatigan at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance.
